Just like humans, cats can experience cognitive decline as they enter their geriatric years. This condition is known as Feline Cognitive Dysfunction (FCD).
Symptoms include staring blankly at walls, forgetting how to use the litter box, becoming disoriented in familiar surroundings, and excessive meowing at night. While FCD cannot be cured, environmental enrichment and specific dietary changes can significantly slow its progression.
